Trustee Dave Koetje is a visionary educational leader with highly respected strengths in innovative and transformational leadership.  He has over forty years of dedicated service in a veriety of learning communities.  His areas of expertise include

Trustee Dave Koetje earned his Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Economics from GVSU and his Masters Degree in School Administration from DePaul University.

 

From 2002-2005 he was part of the Harvard Graduate School of Education's Change Leadership Group, which was a cohort of thirty educators from across the country selected to assist Harvard's Graduate School of Education staff in their development of change models for schools.  In the past 25 years, he has served on numerous church committees, community boards (including GRCC's Foundation Board) and community fund drives.

TeacherDes Plaines Christian Junior High School, Des Plaines, Illinois

 

PrincipalDes Plaines Christian School. While teaching he also served as principal of this sixty student, K-8 racially integrated Christian School serving Chicago’s West Side and northwest suburbs.

 

Executive Director, Calvinist Cadet Corps.  A Christ-centered North American boys club organization with 700 North American clubs serving 12,000 boys and 2,500 leaders.  Primary functions included overseeing the development of experiential curriculum and devotional materials for boys ages 7-14, developing training materials for adult leaders, and establishment of strategies for organizational growth and expansion.

 

Principal, Calvin Christian School, Grandville, MI. serving two buildings as principal- a 400-student elementary school and a 200-student middle school.

 

Adjunct Professor, Dept. of Business Administration, Aquinas College, Grand Rapids Michigan.  Taught courses in the field of organizational leadership and organizational development

 

Principal, Oakdale Christian School, Grand Rapids, MI.  A 400 student Grand Rapids Christian PK-8 school located in Grand Rapids’ central city.

 

Director, Educational Leadership, PractiCom Inc. Grand Rapids, MI.  PractiCom (later merged with Humanco and eventually Varnum Consulting) was a training/consulting firm committed to helping organizations increase people productivity through organizational design, conflict management, and human resource development.

 

Superintendent, Grand Rapids Christian Schools- an urban PK-12 Christian school district serving 2,800 students on seven different campuses.  Oversaw $30,000,000 of fund development and new construction.  “Incubated” a new school starting with 23 students and watching the school grow to over 200 students within five years.    Oversaw the development of Evergreen Christian- Grand Rapids only faith based balanced calendar, inquiry based, and intentionally multi age school. 

 

Strategist, Grand Rapids Christian Schools, oversaw strategic retooling and growth design for Grand Rapids Christian Schools.  Responsibilities include the development of a strategic plan, overseeing all organizational re-tooling as well as the research and design of all new stabilization and growth initiatives.

 

President/CEO Christian Schools International.  Christian Schools International provides services to 500 Christian schools around the globe in the areas of academic program design, leadership development, school accreditation, learning services, and employee benefit programs.

 

2015 CEO, Celebration Fellowship.  Celebration Fellowship is a multi-site prison church whose mission is to have worshiping congregations in each of Michigan’s thirty state prisons. 

                       

Owner/Senior Consultant, Sim Com LLC.  Sim Com uses human centered design to transform K-12 schools and nonprofit organizations for a stronger tomorrow.
